Our next full scale production will be Shrek Jr. The production will run on Sunday 1st June 2025 at the New Theatre Royal in Portsmouth for a total of 2 shows.

Who can audition?

Anyone up to the age of 18 (children must still be under 18 at the time of the production dates)

How do I register?​

Registration is now closed. The maximum number of 100 applicants has been reached.

What will happen at the audition?

All those auditioning are to arrive ready for a 1pm start. On arrival, your child will be given a sticker with a number on. This will be the order in which they will go in to audition for the individual auditions from 2:30-4:30pm.

 

The first 90 minutes (1-2:30pm) will involve a 'dance workshop and audition'. Those auditioning will be given a short dance routine to learn in an intense dance workshop. Children will then be split into small groups where they will show the routine to the panel.

Following this, the individual auditions will commence from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. Children will wait in the waiting area and when their number is called, will enter to complete their audition.

There will be refreshments available (for a small fee) in the waiting area.

Will someone read on for other character's lines?

Yes, one of the audition panel will do this.

Can I bring props?

If your child feels it will benefit their audition, absolutely!

​

Will there be music provided?

Yes, your child does not need to bring bluetooth speakers etc.

Can I audition for more than one character?

Your child can audition for one character only. Please feel free to write down any other characters they are interested in through the registration form as we may feel they are suited to a different role.

How long will the audition last for?

The dance workshop will last 90 minutes. The individual audition will take no more than 10 minutes. How long it takes is also no indication as to whether your child has been cast or not.

 

What if I cannot attend the audition date?

Your child will be able to send in their audition via email (admin@performerstheatrecompany.com). Please ensure that they register in the same way and then inform us that they will be absent in person. 

We must receive this by Tuesday 27th August. After this, they will not be considered.
